This week we are shining Wednesday’s spotlight on Brazilian model-designer-mom, Camila Alves McConaughey.
As the wife of Hollywood actor and powerhouse Matthew McConaughey and mom to three little ones, including one newborn, Camila demonstrates that being a hot mom is easily achievable.
On the red carpet, Camila goes ultra-glam with lux, body accentuating gowns in bold colors – her two most notable looks featured a beautiful pale pink and a strong mustard yellow.
Off-duty glam, she favors an easy-going, urban bohemian look, which definitely ties into her Brazilian heritage.
Camila favors colored over traditional denim, and goes with an embroidered peasant top or silky button down on top. She is usually always rocking a bold fringe bag (totally on trend this spring), paired with mom-on-the-go booties, or beaded sandals.
To get her cool mom look, trade in your yoga pants for some white or bright blue jeans. Try a slouchy boyfriend tee, lace accents and ethereal jewelry. Even a printed maxi-dress is just as easy and comfortable to throw on, but super cute!

When I meet with new clients, one of my goals is to assist them in defining their personal style.
Some have a good notion of what that may be, others not as much.
One method I use to narrow things down for the undefined style, is to come up with a word.
While one word isn’t meant to define the person but instead, be a guideline that gives an overall sense of what the client projects.
Elegant, energetic, or free spirit.
When perusing through a person’s wardrobe, we can then apply that word to each piece.
Does this velour tracksuit with words across the backside fall under elegant? Probably not. Out it goes.
While the temps are slowly increasing and you are pulling our your warmer weather wear, this is a good time to evaluate what you have in your wardrobe.
Do you know your word? What do you want your look to say about you? Do the pieces you have project who you are?
I’d love to hear your word and thoughts on this Tuesday Tip.
This week’s man is 35-year-old singer/songwriter John Legend.
This dude has not only the voice of an angel, but impeccable style to accompany it. John’s style is difficult to pin down to a single definition, but one word seems to consistently present: smooth.
Just listen to his latest song “All of Me“, sung about his gorgeous wife. How does it not pull you in? I dare you to face traffic with this song playing and not sing along at full lung capacity.
Although John’s style isn’t particularly cutting edge, or risk taking, it remains modern, sleek and put together.
On the stage and the red carpet, John gives classic looks modern twists, like a blue and orange pol-a-dot double breasted suit, or a traditional blazer and tie paired with a slouchy trouser and combat boots.
Off duty, John maintains the same polished appearance, taking his well-loved sports coats to day-appropriate with skinny jeans and sneakers.
Take some inspiration from John, and build your wardrobe around classic pieces, indulging with those smooth touches. Look for bold outerwear and prints in basic colors that can be easily mixed and matched, or an unexpected fabric, like leather or neoprene to mix with different denim variations.

What a beautiful day!!!!
I met a bestie for breakfast, catch up and a little retail time this morning. Always fun.
Then picked up my jr. from outdoor school, he came home just in time to celebrate his birthday.
Tonight there will be baseball. Let’s hope the M’s can pull out some magic, fingers crossed.
One of my retail purposes today was finding some dresses for several upcoming events. Two are next week. In London.
I’ve never spent time there, if you have some fab suggestions for me (shopping, eating, + otherwise), please send them on.
Have an amazing weekend!!
You may have noticed that Gladiator Sandals have made their way back to the fashion scene.
Quite glamourous on the runway and very editorial for the fashion set.
But when the non models, non fashion shoot set, attempt to add them into their wardrobe, it doesn’t always have the same effect.
If Ms. Gomez was wearing a longer flowy Free People’esque dress or a gauzy maxi skirt with her sandals above, it would work. But here, her shoes are too much for her other pieces. Not to mention that her legs get shortened by the dark color. Nude gladiators would have been the better option.
Same shoes as the last but a little more dressed up. Not sure what the heck we would call this look though….. Venice Beach Special.
This outfit is too heavy for the shoe pairing but notice how much better the nude keeps those legs looking long.
These black sandals look gorgeous with a full length, dressier skirt.
Keeping everything neutral and close to skin tone, perfect.

This Monday’s Man is 56 year-old TV journalist Matt Lauer. As one of the hosts of The Today Show, Matt is the ultimate guy’s guy, and that is totally emulated through his style.
Matt regularly showcases the perfect casual suit, which has definitely become his Today Show uniform. Start with the basics: a blazer and complimentary bottoms.
Matt usually embraces a subtle patterned blazer, like checks or stripes, which adds a stylish edge. On the bottom half: a slim trouser, or even a dark denim for a slightly more casual look.
Next, the button down – try an unexpected color, or a trendy pattern (polk-a-dots are so cool right now), or go for the classic white or blue. Dress up with a tie, or leave one out for an easy look.
On his off days, Matt forgoes the blazer, but doesn’t let his look get sloppy. He mixes lighter denim and khakis with sweaters and vests, and dresses down with a baseball cap and bold leather belts.
Regardless of the occasion or the season, Matt looks effortlessly put together on any day. Check out the board below for some easy Matt-like pieces:
Another busy week coming to an end.
The view from one of my many offices today. The weather turnaround from yesterday was amazing.
Today’s work was with SMG model Nick B and photographer Mcklyn, so fun. A couple behind the scenes sneak peeks for you.
You’d think having regular time with photographers would make for easy Fashion Friday photos. And that was the plan today but we ran out of time. It happens. So I share my Friday look with pieces with out me. It was Zara heavy today.
I wore a Zara draped jacket similar to this current one.
A private label top that is a cross between these two.
These current Zara pants, along with these Zara shoes.
What have you been wearing to keep up with this wonderous weather?
Have a fabulous weekend!
The lady of the week this time around is 26-year-old actress, Blake Lively.
We’ve all seen her somewhere, from Gossip Girl, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Savages, or on Ryan Reynolds’ arm (they’re married), so we are all fairly familiar with the native Californian’s effortless sexy. On the red carpet, Blake goes ultra-glam, often showing of her body in curve hugging pieces; but, there is something unique about her: she lets the clothes do the work.
Blake completely embodies this idea of effortlessly sexy by letting her well-selected garments take center stage – there is no need for elaborate hair and makeup, or tons of accessories. She gives off kind of an, “I rolled out of bed and just threw on this gown” thing, and boy-oh-boy does it work for her!
Off duty, Blake maintains her easy style with a bit of a bohemian feel, with lots of jeans, slouchy tanks, infinity scarves and a pretty solid hat wardrobe.
Take some inspiration from Blake and feel effortlessly sexy – try mixing leggings with a slouchy sweater and killer pumps on an off day. For the office, try a curve-hugging pencil skirt in a unique material (leather would be cool), or deep color, paired with a flouncy peplum top.
On special occasions, take a cue from Blake and go for a menswear inspired evening look with some strappy heels. Take a look at the board below for some inspiration.
