The Pink Pagoda is leaving the building.
Just over 3 years ago when I started up this company, Pink Pagoda Style was created to assist women and men bring out their personality, their style, through their fashion and decor. The actual Pink Pagoda was a representation of me, my personality and since my first clients were people who knew me well, this made sense. As time has gone on, I have met so many new people and had so many opportunities that have taken me way beyond that initial inner circle. And with that, the Pink Pagoda, although still very much a part of me, has made less sense to keep around. Therefore, we are moving to:
Kim Brooks • Style
(logo still in the works….)
With the changing of my company name, it has made me reflect on what is important in my business and where I want to go. My very first priority was to assist real people with real clothes and that remains my top priority. I want to bring you more though. More tips, more tricks, classes, video, and just overall fun when it comes to your fashion. And style.
As my mix master web gal and I work away on my new website, I want to hear from you. I want to know what you want to see and hear. Let me know your thoughts.
I’ll keep you posted as the transition from Pink Pagoda Style to Kim Brooks • Style happens, keep tuning in, and be sure to send me your suggestions!

My end of the work week will be Sunday instead of Friday, almost there! How was your week?
Ready for Spring and feeling the need for a little color.
I’m kind of obsessed with a messy roll on the cuff of my jeans. You’ve probably noticed. It’ll only last a little longer, I am sure.
The other week, when I stopped by Target to check out the Prabal Gurung collection, I happened upon this khaki jacket. It reminds me of the Calvin Klein blazer I wore here but can be more casual and will transition easier into warmer weather. Besides that fact that is was a LOT less money.
Jacket: Xhilaration at Target (get it here), Floral Blouse: Bellatrix at Nordstrom (similar here), Belt: Sandy Duftlan (old), Jeans: Seven for All Mankind (old), Shoes: Leifnotes for Anthropologie (still available here), Earrings: Neiman Marcus (old), Rings: both vintage, Glasses: Claires (similar here) :)
Friday Fashion is really Thursday Fashion. Casual Valentine Wear.
Valentines was pretty low key in Pink Pagoda land. Denim and layers were perfectly fitting. What did you do? I heard about outfits ranging from college football cheering wear through to fancy fashion.
Striped Tank: Soprano (Nordstrom Rack), Black Sheer Blouse: Lush (FinchandSparrow.com), Jacket: Halogen (Nordstrom), Red Skinnies: Bliss (Fremont), Booties: Forever 21, Hoop Earrings: Stella & Dot, Necklace: Bar III (Macy’s), Ring: Lucca (Ballard).
You saw the dresses, you saw the skirts. Maybe that style isn’t you. Or you don’t feel like getting quite so dressed up. Maybe you are staying in and want a cozy up and cuddle kind of look. There are many options for being comfortable but still cute. Here is one idea for you that involves fluid pants, a draped top and then completed with some sexy shoes and a little bit of bling. Looking good comfort girl!
And what about the men, you say? What can they do to spiff up without wearing a tux? How about this? Unless you are planning for fancy in which a suit is in line, feel free to wear your best, dark denim. Lose the free marketing tee from work and put on a button down, layered with a sweater and jacket. Tie or bow optional. Shine up your shoes and make sure you smell good. While your love may enjoy flowers or chocolate, a love note would put that special someone over the moon.
In case you missed my Valentines Day outfit inspiration, posted on Hip Travel Mama’s website yesterday, I thought I’d share here as well. A look for the true girly girl, one for the traditional, and one with a little edge.
Valentines Day brings up a host of emotions, depending on who you ask. The range is from “Ohhh, I love Valentines Day” to “Ughhh, did you have to remind me?” and everything in between. Some have their homes decked out with every red and pink item they can find on the store shelves and some choose to bi-pass the entire concept.
Regardless of where you stand on the idea of February 14th and what is going in your LOVE department, you should celebrate you. Whether curling up on the couch with your honey, hanging out with your BFF’s, or staying late at the office, be sure to do a little something special for you, from you, this Valentines Day.
Today, through Thursday, I will post a little Valentines Day inspiration, outfit ideas, to put a little sparkle in your step.
Today’s post was created for Hip Travel Mama and can be seen in full on her site here.
Have a LOVE-ly week!
Today didn’t really involve any fashion, well, because. Is there a way to make pajama’s sounds fancy?
So here is a look from earlier in the week. Happy weekend everyone!
Earrings: Stella & Dot, Sweater: CAbi, Jacket: Zara, Necklace: Bliss (Fremont), Skirt: Qi (Anthropologie),
