Calling all Camels…

A friend is in Abu Dhabi this week and has been riding the camels.  So I decided to call my own wildlife right from my desktop….

Happy After Christmas!  Hope everyone has had a chance to kick back and enjoy the Holiday, or perhaps you are doing that this week.   I’ve had a sudden urge to purge and will be sorting my wardrobe and various other projects this week, in preparation for 2013.  More on that later….

I love a good find and that includes my cardi worn above.  I spied it across a crowded store during my Christmas shopping and knew it had to come home with me.  Super inexpensive and I have had more compliments on it,  “Where can I buy it” questions, and best of all, assumptions that it is designer.  LOVE!

Earrings: Bar III (Macy’s), Cardi: Forever 21, L/S Tee: Nordstrom Rack, Belt: Hipsi, Faux Leather Pants: Free People, Ankle Boots: Forever 21, Ring: Vintage, Cuff: Vince Camuto, Purse: Isabella Fiore.

Friday Fashion 12.21.12

Happy Friday!  Well, we made it.  No astroids, no power outages, it is all good.  And thank goodness, as I had some serious shopping to do today.

So, in needing to hit the mall, I wanted to layer up to be warm without a coat, wear something comfortable, and have some cheery color for being festive.  Even if it was coral.  Think Miami.  Or the Islands.

Although this may be a hectic weekend for some, make it fun and have a good one!

Cardigan: M.Rena (Fine Finds, Vancouver) , Coral Sweater: Olivaceous (Bliss, Fremont), Silk Blouse: Vince (Neiman Marcus), Belt: Hipsi, Boyfriend Jeans: CAbi, Boots: Biviel (Burnt Sugar/Frankie, Fremont), Necklace: Stella & Dot, Ring: unknown (Bliss, Fremont).

Friday Fashion -12.14.12

Before I do my standard post, fashion does seem low on the totem pole after the week we have had.  First Portland and now Connecticut.  My kids got extra love this afternoon and love, light, and prayers are being sent to all of the families affected.

With a full day of appointments and a holiday luncheon, I chose to be a little dressier. Standard fare I suppose for this time of year.  But I have to say, still totally comfortable.  Some of the women I was with, were discussing outfits for Holiday parties this weekend, and pants vs. dresses came up.  I will raise my hand 9 times out of 10 for the dress.  Comfortable, no waist band and so easily dressed up.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend with those who are important to you.  No time like the present to tell  those people that you love them AND pull out that special something (dress, suit, jewel, dishes) that you have been saving and put them to use.

Happy Holidays, Happy Weekend!

Jacket: Halogen, Dolman Sweater: Vince, Skirt: Renfrew, Earrings: Neiman Marcus, Necklace: Alfani from Macy’s, Ring: Ruffles and Rust (Snohomish), and Boots: Arturo Chiang.

Metal Madness

I’ve been wearing metallic denim for a year now and it hasn’t gotten old.  I’ve had women ask “but where would I wear it??” and my response has always been anywhere.  You can style them casually with a plain tee and flats or make them a night out with sparkle and bling.  Just a fun basic to have in your closet.

Yesterday I met with the gorgeous Gina to put a few metallic denim looks together.  This one with a fun draped top and ballet flats is an easy, daytime look.  Put together but super casual and comfortable.

Another day to night time look incorporates the denim, with a cowl neck sweater, scarf, coat and boots.  We added these for a punch of color but of course tall, equestrian boots would be great.

And now for night.  Metallic galore.  Sparkle on the top, shine on the arm and feet.  Add a little black jacket for warmth and you would be set.

So, Bliss in Fremont just got their orders of these fab foiled denim in and they want to share the love with you.  They come in a dark gold, black (as seen above), silver, and a light gold that has a pinkish shimmer.  They retail for $88 but for this week only Pink Pagoda Friends will receive 20% off (in store or online) with the code PINKMETAL20.

http://bit.ly/TMExI1 or in store at Bliss (3501 Fremont Ave. N, Seattle)

*Special is on metallic jeans only, applicable from 12.8.12-12.15.12.*
