Dear PPS: What do you do?

This question comes up.  “I see that you post all kinds of clothes and things on your Facebook page, do you have a store?  Are you selling these things?  What DO you do?”.  Although, there is a “Services” tab on my website, it doesn’t encompass everything and I get asked these questions frequently.  So I thought I would break it on down.

• Closet Consultations•

This is where I started and it is still 75% of my biz.  I come to you and we go through everything.  This is a fun experience.  We figure out together what can go, what can stay and what needs to be added.  This all depends on the individual clients goals.  I love to create new outfits with what you already own and just hadn’t thought to put together.  The goal isn’t to amass a ton of new, expensive clothes but instead focus on less is more and quality vs. quantity.  I can do this with price points across the board.  I don’t share pictures of my clients and their closets, as it’s a personal thing.  I do have references a plenty though, please just ask.

• Events•

I will work with various boutiques in the area to put on shopping events.  For the open invite ones, there is always a fashion show.  Stay tuned as a fall event is currently in the works.  If you prefer a more private affair, I can arrange small group shopping events as well.  Perfect GNO with your favorite friends.

•Speaking Engagements•

I have had the pleasure to be invited to speak in front of varying groups of women regarding fashion; how to put outfits together, personalizing your work wardrobe, day to night transitions, packing for various vacations and just basic Fashion 101’s.  I can gear my presentation around your gathering and goals, email me for details.

•Photo Shoots•

Through various entities, I have had the opportunity to style/co-style the models for fashion shoots.  I have various contacts in the way of photography/MUA/hairstylists if those are needed as well.  Contact for details.

•Decor•

Although a small part of the Pink Pagoda Style world, being a very visual person, decor projects sometimes present themselves.  I am not an interior decorator but am very comfortable in choosing color, suggesting room configuration, and assisting in adding some individual flair to your decor.  Wedding reception styling is also on the list.

•Extras•

So, as you can see, the world of styling can vary.  I love to do it all and would be happy to speak with you about your project.  Other than the above items, you will find me posting on Facebook, pinning on Pinterest, shopping and sharing my finds, attending events, and speaking volumes about the world of consignment.  Hope this post has helped answer some questions, if you still have any or just want to say hi, drop me a line.

So simple…..

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend packed full of fun.  In perusing through my emails and web content this morning, I came across an outfit that is all too common in the PNW. While comfortable and perfect on a cold day sitting at home (in a high school classroom, college dorm, and the like) there is no need for this to be a staple outfit for those of us over the age of, ummmm, 20.

Such easy adds will take this outfit to a different level.  Change out the Uggs for some cute shoes (boots in the winter).

Sam Edelman “Beatrix Ballet Flat”

Add a jewel or two.

House of Harlow "Pyramid Station" Necklace

Flying Lizard Designs Large Silver Dot Ring

A Jacket if necessary.

Tall Ponte Blazer

Pack your bag and go.

Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote

Still comfortable but put together.  Easy Peasy.

Pink Pagoda Style was leading the parade when it came to needing summer to arrive this year.  Warmer weather, shedding of the layers, and just all around need for sunshine.  So, it may seem a little odd with what I am about to say.  All of the catalogs and magazines that arrive on my desk on a very regular basis are drawing me in with their images of fabulous fabrics, rich colors, and my favorite clothing season of the year.  Fall.  How I love to peruse the latest autumn footwear (boots!) and go in search of the perfect, cool weather sweater.  And I truly can’t wait to don some bordeaux and deep browns for the season.   Whether that is lipstick, or a new silk or leather piece that will become my favorite.  So, is this a boo/hiss moment for PPS or are you on board?  Let me have it!!!
